ANOTHER 21 Reasons Why I Need Feminism

1. My behavior does not determine my gender, Mom and Dad
2. I dress nicely because I want proper compliments
3. Did I tell you about how a lot of Korean women today are getting plastic surgery because of the ever so popular K-Pop and K-Drama? Because of that, now they need to change their faces into those of beautiful actresses and singers on TV to make it easier to get a goddamn job, and they shouldn't have to
4. Most female protagonists in anime, manga and games are either damsels-in-distress/F-boobed eye candy/annoying fangirls squealing over rice balls (which is no good because I like manga/anime and this is ruining its image)
5. The obviously abusive relationship in the Twilight series are still considered "true love" by many people (I once read a reviewer writing that Bella's jumping off a cliff in New Moon is a "beautiful act of true love")
6. I as well as other women shouldn't be afraid to post pictures of ourselves online just because some dudes are going to recognize us and put us in danger
7. Rape victims are still blamed (I once read a story about a 13-year-old girl in my country being molested and after that she couldn't go to school ever again because all the teachers and schoolmates treated her like crap. Some of the boys even pissed on her school backpack)
8. In my country, girls always do better at school than boys, which means if I get bad grades I'm not a real girl. Right
9. A teacher of mine once said that women's pride is lower than men's
10. In Japan, if a woman gets pregnant, she may be asked to quit her job #prayforjapan #rightnow
11. My mom keeps saying it'd be nice if I could find myself a Japanese husband when I go there to study. Mom, I've told you many times that I don't want a Japanese husband or any husbands for that matter
12. My parents practically say I'm not a real girl (again) because I'm disorganized (as in my desk isn't tidy). I'll tell you what, that's because I'm right-brained, and that has nothing to do with gender
13. Gender roles/stereotypes. Nuff said
14. "You're such a girl" is still used as an insult (in my country Vietnam and I'm pretty sure in China too, it has been used as an insult since the feudal era #damnyouconfucius )
15. A reason why I don't like K-Pop: Boy bands get all the cool badass dance routines while girl bands' choreography is largely hip-swinging and butt-popping
16. I remember a story when a lot of female teachers applying for a pre-school were rejected because their breast size measurements were missing _{perverted principal much?}
17. Music videos like "Oah" exist (don't get me wrong, I like Alexander Rybak and the song, I just don't like the video)
18. Can't a boy and a girl be friends without everybody else assuming they're in a romantic relationship?
19. Boys can annoy the hell out of girls including me at my school and if we actually get pissed off, people will say we're over-reacting drama queens. We have to pretend to laugh or try and ignore them
20. Feminism does not equal misandry!!!
21. My parents don't let me cosplay (they say they don't want me to look like another person, but I know what that means. They think girl cosplayers are only ones who wear purple or blue wigs and clothes that barely cover their bodies and therefore sluts)
